Despite his role as king, Mufasa is a kind and even playful lion, earning him the respect of his subjects. He is a very wise and intelligent king, with the Pride Lands being in an era of peace and prosperity under his rule. He suffers from a bad temper however, finding it difficult to keep his cool when tensions rise, especially when it comes to his younger brother Scar.
